Project Updates:
About the request
The Woodville West Torrens Football Club (WWTFC / the Club), known as the "Eagles", have been long standing tenants at the Woodville Oval precinct, off Oval Avenue in Woodville South. The Club is well-regarded for its rich history and commitment to creating a supportive environment for both its members and the broader community.
WWTFC has formally requested a long‐term lease and licence agreement to ensure continued use of their clubroom and the surrounding grounds and facilities into the future. This request will allow WWTFC to continue developing Australian rules football at Woodville Oval.
The requested building lease and grounds licence are for an initial term of 20 years with a right to renew for a further 20 years (40 years total).
The building lease includes all year-round use of the administration and function building, known as the Eagles Function Centre, located at the northern end of the oval. It also includes the eastern car park off Koolunda Avenue.
The grounds licence incorporates use of the oval and the Percy Fox Green Grandstand for 6 months of the year (from 1 April to 30 September), and use of the Barry Jarman Grandstand all year-round. The oval grounds and Percy Fox Grandstand are shared with the Woodville District Cricket Club for the alternate 6 months of the year
(1 October to 31 March). The Cricket Club has a separate building facility (clubroom) at Woodville Oval for their use all year-round.
Community Access
Under this request the community access arrangements will remain unchanged - the Club will just have an extended lease and licence term if the request is approved.
The community can continue to benefit from the use of Woodville Oval whenever it is not being utilised for structured sports activities organised by the Club (training, games, events), or on official match days.
View the image on this page titled "Community access points" to see where access gates are located, and unlocked when the oval is not in use for structured sport or associated events.
