We have reached some significant milestones and the project continues to progress!
We take this opportunity to present to you the final Master Plan which will complement existing works and deliver a regional open space precinct accessible to you and our wider Charles Sturt community.
Concept designs for the St Clair Recreation Precinct were developed in 2016 following community consultation which focused upon the spaces within and around the now developed St Clair Recreation Centre.
This consultation informed further revisions to the Concept Plan and were incorporated into the precinct Master Plan which was endorsed by Council on 25/09/2017 (Item 6.109).
Since this time, Council has constructed significant elements contained within the Master Plan and in February 2019 endorsed the final budget to deliver the final stages of works (CL 11/02/2019 Item 6.18).
The final Master Plan is detailed in the resource documents outlining all project works, including the regional play space, skate park, significant landscaping works and new community facilities. Please also refer to the resource documents for details relating to St Clair Ovals 1-4 as detailed in the Master Plan.
Future works and notable changed elements include:
- Additional car parking along Brocas Avenue
- Additional unisex changeroom facilities attached to the existing St Clair Oval No.2 changeroom and public toilet building
- Internal changes to St Clair Oval No.2 changeroom, including a servery and additional public toilets
- Additional storage adjacent to St Clair Avenue
- Relocation of the community use tennis and futsal courts
Please note that a separate consultation will be undertaken in relation to future public amenity and shelter facilities proposed between Ovals 3 and 4 (to the west of the existing changerooms “Item 15” on the Concept Plan).
