Endorsed Concept Plan

On 15 August 2022 a report was presented to Council’s Asset Management Committee meeting, presenting the outcomes of consultation for the Renown Park Living Streets project, and at that meeting a preferred concept design was endorsed so that staff could commence the detailed design in preparation for the first stage of works to commence in 2023/24. The preferred concept plan is in the document library.

Landscape Design

At the time of Council endorsing the concept plans there was interest from some members of the community about the landscape details of the project i.e. the types of tree and plant species to be used, impact on existing trees etc and whether there would be an opportunity to influence this outcome.

Consultation

The landscaping shown on the endorsed concept is indicative only and since that time we have been progressing the designs and look forward to presenting these in the near future for further comment from the community.

Kaurna Yerta Aboriginal Corporation (KYAC)

We respect the traditional landowners of the City of Charles Sturt area and are continuing to engage with the Kaurna Yerta in the delivery of our projects. The Kaurna Yerta Aboriginal Corporation (KYAC) has been engaged to deliver a design that we believe balances the needs of the community and highlights Kaurna’s cultural and natural values on traditional lands. The design can be used to educate the wider community about connection to country and bring them along on a journey of mutual respect and understanding.

Car Parking

We have now located and identified car parking locations which will balance the needs of the street whilst also ensuring the design is in line with the endorsed concept. This will be shown on the landscaping design issued to residents later in the year.

Next Steps
The draft landscape designs for the project area will be issued out to all residents and stakeholders in the near future and we look forward to your input when this occurs.
