Council staff are currently reviewing the feedback and are preparing a report for Council and we will advise those that have made a submission will be notified of the report date.
Council has recently resolved to undertake community consultation with respect to revoking the community land classification of a portion of land located at 111A Woodville Road, St Clair previously utilised by Council as an Immunisation Clinic.
A review of the future usage of the site was undertaken following relocation of the Immunisation Clinic services to the new St Clair Recreation Centre late last year. The review identified the building as being surplus to Council’s requirements with all Council’s operational needs for the area being met by the Recreational Centre building. Further it was found the facilities were no longer consistent with facility standards provided by Council within the precinct and could better serve the community by enhancing local privatised services. The full Council report and endorsement to commence the revocation process can be viewed by visiting http://www.charlessturt.sa.gov.au/webdata/resources/minutesAgendas/cl19-02-11m.pdf .
If Community Land revocation were to proceed in accordance with Section 194 of the Local Government Act, it will be necessary to undertake a Land Division process to ensure the ‘Warehouse’ building and associated community activities located at the rear of 111A Woodville Road are retained for the use of the community and continue to provide public car parking spaces (10) and access to the Warehouse and The Brocas community buildings.
Council is proposing to use the proceeds of any approved sale to be used to retire debt associated with funding the remaining costs of the final stage of the St Clair Recreational Precinct project.
