What is a playground renewal?

A playground renewal is the replacement of an existing playground with like-for-like equipment or equipment of a similar 'play value' to what’s already there. Depending on its location, classification, uses, and the renewal budget, elements that may be considered in a playground renewal design include:

  • Replacement of all or some existing playground elements and features
  • Tree planting
  • Landscaping
  • Additional seating, if its required
  • In some cases, inclusivity and accessibility features, such as soft fall, minor paths, or other infrastructure.

How can you be involved?

To help us design the playgrounds with our community in mind, we want to know if you visit these spaces and how you use them, what your favourite play equipment and activities are, and more.

When feedback opens in early December, you can click on each playground below to find out more and share your thoughts to help inform the future play space.
