We engaged with the local community, nearby community groups and the wider public from 1 July to 11 August 2024, about the Thomas Harkness Reserve playground replacement scheduled for completion this financial year (2024/25). Thomas Harkness Reserve is a 'Neighbourhood' classified reserve and playground located on Spurs Avenue x Cappers Drive, Brompton.

For this playground, we engaged with you about the replacement of all play features within the playground. The aim of this engagement was to find out how you play in this space, and what types of play our young community enjoys most so we could develop a new play design for the replacement equipment that would be enjoyed for years to come.

A new shade structure was also recently installed over the Thomas Harkness Reserve playground in preparation for the playground replacement, to create a shady, sheltered playground that can be used throughout the warmer months more safely.
