Thanks to everyone who shared feedback on our draft playground renewal plan for Sunningdale Reserve in Fulham Gardens. We have reviewed all suggestions and feedback from participants to understand who uses the current reserve and play equipment, and to consider if any minor changes were required in the final design. We will share the feedback we received and a copy of the final playground design, including relevant construction details and timeframes in the near future. We will make this information available here, on the project page, and directly to all participants of the consultation process. In the meantime, please reach out if you have any questions or concerns to the details at the bottom of this page.
About the Trust Reserve Playground Renewal
We are renewing the Trust Reserve playground, accessible via Eagle Court in Semaphore Park, in the first half of 2024, with the support of Westport Primary School. We would appreciate your feedback on the replacement equipment we've selected for this reserve, to offer a similar but more updated play experience based on current trends, best practice and accessibility, and local enjoyment.
Proposed, replacement features include:
- New swing set with basket swing, strap swing and toddler swing
- New play structure with sliding, monkey bars, small platform flying fox, and climbing.
- New, timber playground fencing with additional, double gate entryway – to be opened outside of school hours for public use.
- Additional planting and landscaping.

Also Coming.... An Exciting New, Nature Play Space
We are also excited to share that, as part of this project, we are delivering a new nature play space at the south-western end of the oval near the community garden. This new play space is being constructed as we recognise that the local community and public aren't able to access the playground on Trust Reserve during school hours.
Play features planned for this area:
- Splayed timber, climbing and balancing structure with 11m long poles and hammock netting.
- Rock and log edged garden bed with central water play.
We are not consulting on this space because the initial budget and scope won’t allow for any additional play elements. If you do have suggestions for future additions or improvements to this space that you would like to consider, you are welcome to share them with us at the onsite feedback session or by contacting us via the details at the bottom left of this page.
Submit a drawing for the playground fence artwork
Send us in a self-drawn picture and we might select your picture to be converted into artwork to be attached to the new playground fencing. Will you become the next public artist!
OR
During the consultation period, we would also love you to send in a drawing that represents something about you, your culture, what you like, how you like to play, or something special to you about your local area. We will select drawings that represent the diversity and culture of the area and have them turned into cutouts and attached to the new playground fencing.
Artwork submissions for graphic, fence art inspiration are now closed. Thank you.
