The following activities have been set up for students from the Star of Sea School. The main community consultation page can be found here.

Hello!

The City of Charles Sturt is building a brand new community space for the whole community to enjoy. The new Henley Hub will include a library, computers and wifi. There will be a kitchen to run cooking workshops and a creative space for painting, art, crafts and any creative activities. There will be a large activity space for events and fitness classes and smaller rooms for people to study or hold a meeting. There will also be an outdoor space, covered for rainy or really hot days.

You are our new boss of the Henley Hub. So we invite you to have a look at the concept plans on the right and then have a go at the following jobs:

  1. Tell us what activities you have planned in the hub to make it a fun and enjoyable place for the whole community. Think about young people, old people, people from different countries and cultures and people living with disabilities.
  2. Create a poster that we could use to promote our new hub and upload it here. There will be a prize to be won for the best poster.
  3. Help answer one of our big questions. Choose one of the following questions to answer:
    • What environmental ideas would you like to see in the building and why?
    • How should we tell people about the different types of transport – on foot, bike, bus and car – to get here? And why is this important?
  4. Look at the activity below called Outdoor Space. You have 100 points to spend on the outdoor space. What would you spend your points on and why?
