Earlier in the year we advised of the consultation outcomes for an inclusive and accessible viewing platform proposed in the Mirani Court Reserve. The platform initiative was supported by the community; however, the location was reviewed due to height and privacy/sight concerns.

We have since been working with the Department for Infrastructure & Transport (DIT), to develop a platform which would integrate into the proposed Coast Park path and suit the environment and amenity of the coast while minimising any impact on the dunes.

An updated concept plan including proposed coastal landscaping is now available to view.

The scope of works will include:

• New viewing platform constructed in fibre reinforced plastic mesh with timber post and wire fencing
• New coastal plantings to compliment the dune environment
• Small concrete path connecting the accessible parking spaces to the new coast park path

Timing of works

The viewing platform will be constructed in conjunction with the State Government’s Coast Park path works in 2023. An actual commencement date has not yet been confirmed.
