Project Updates
Stay up to date on the progression of the Hooded Plover Mural.
We are creating a new mural on the concreate retaining wall at the Karrawirra Parri Torrens River outlet to promote Council's recently introduced By-Law. Dogs are required to be on leash 100 metres from the signs advising that there is a hooded plover or red capped plover nest, eggs or chicks in the vicinity.
The location
The mural will be painted at the Karrawirra Parri Torrens outlet site as Hooded Plover has been found to nest in this area.
Creating the mural
We received 17 expressions of interest to create a design that promotes Hooded Plovers and the importance of keeping dogs on leash. We have shortlisted three artists who provided a concept design.
Seeking your feedback
We encourage you to:
- View the mural concept designs
- Provide suggestions on how the mural can be as impactful as possible
- Select your two favourite murals
Selecting the final artwork
The community's feedback will be utilised in selecting and finalising the final mural design.
