Draft Community Land Management Plan

Background

The City of Charles Sturt is proposing the development of a new Community Land Management Plan (CLMP) for 15 – 25 Spad Street, Albert Park, currently known as ‘Spad Street Reserve’.

The need for a CLMP has resulted from Council’s desire to develop these land parcels as a new reserve for the enjoyment of the community. To enable development of the site as a new reserve, we must first prepare a CLMP to designate the site as ‘community land’ and to govern the activities and development that can occur on the reserve.

A draft CLMP has been prepared for community consultation, which would enable the site at 15 – 25 Spad Street, Albert Park to be designated as ‘community land’ and enable the development of the reserve to proceed.

The results of this consultation, including your feedback, will be reported to Council to provide them with the detail needed to make an informed decision on endorsing the CLMP for the new reserve at 15 – 25 Spad Street, Albert Park.

We are also consulting with the community, separately, about the design of the new, neighbourhood reserve should the CLMP be endorsed and allow development of this reserve. If you would like to see what is being proposed for this reserve and share your own vision and input on this important, local open space for Albert Park and Hendon, please head to the consultation page for the draft reserve design.

For the purposes of this community engagement, the new reserve has been named ‘Spad Street Reserve’, however we will seek community feedback on a permanent name closer to the completion of the new reserve.
