Look at installing solar PV and battery storage at my house or business.
Use renewable electricity to power electric vehicles.
Place food and green matter in my compost bin or green organics bin. Then the organic matter is recycled into compost, plus methane production and landfill is reduced.
Produce my own food, support local and organic food producers, and reduce food waste.
Community fruit and vege swaps bring together neighbours to share the surplus fruit and vegetables from their gardens,
Community gardens enhance our city’s environmental sustainability, food security and social vibrancy.
Trees boost biodiversity across our City, provide habitat for our native fauna, increase our green cover and reduce the heat island effect.
Look into planting the verge in front of my house or business. It is an excellent way of getting to know neighbours, building a sense of community, and adding to the biodiversity and beauty of the street.
Find out the best places to dispose of goods that I no longer want, so they can have another life.
Catch a bus, tram or train instead of driving my car.
Walk or cycle to work, school and other destinations, it's good for the environment and healthy for me! Walking and cycling are forms of active transport.
Understand what government support (incentives, funding, grants) is available, and find out how to access these and if they are right for me.
Community groups are a great opportunity to meet like-minded people to learn, encourage and take action.
Host or attend a community event that encourages and supports action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
